The first Kawasaki motorcycles were developed by the aircraft division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries from 1949 to 1952. Initially partnering with Meguro Manufacturing to release its motorcycles, Kawasaki soon bought out its ailing partner, leading to the creation of the Kawasaki Motorcycle Company.
